To create a new filter, first you need to view the Filters page by clicking "Options" near by "Sign Out" link left-hand topside of page, Select "Mail Options" from popup menu and then click "Filters" in the left side navigation and then create or edit filters on the right side.
(If you are useing old yahoo mail Select "Mail Options" link on the right-hand navigation bar, then select "Filters" located in the middle of the page, under Mail Management.)
Once on the Filters page open you can create a filter by following this staps...
1 ) Click the "Add Filter" button.
2 ) Choose the field you want to match in the incoming e-mail.
3 ) Select the one of the following "Sender", "Recipient", "Subject" or "Email Body" to match.(In old yahoo mail "headers", "To/Cc", "Subject", or "Body")
4 ) Choose the criterion by which you want a match to be made.
5 ) Enter the text string to compare.
6 ) Choose the destination folder to which you would like the message delivered.(Or you can create New Folder.)
i.e. If i want to block email from abc@xyz.com by "Sender", So i need 2 select "Contains" dropdown menu, in Textbox "abc@xyz.com" and need to select "Spam" folder. So when that person send me mail again its move to Spam folder itself.
7 ) If you have more than one filter, you'll also see radio buttons to the left of the add Filter buttons. Use these buttons to select the placement of the filter.
(Filter order is important because Filter one will be the first filter applied to an incoming e-mail, then Filter two then filter next untill list end.)
Note : you can create a maximum 15 Filter in Yahoo Mail.
